i was out walking my dog and noticed that my tattoos looked good in the sun (yes, it's wearing shorts temperature here in norcal. i've had those doc martens for at least 15 years. steel to, bad ass boots! the tongues have give up and fell over, they're muddy, but i love them. they have so much cred. LOL actually the ink is as much cred as anyone could need! haaha just showing off my pretties.
i feel like they were something like a rite of passage. i spent so much time, money, and most importantly, dealt with all the pain that came with them. they don't scare me and the pain doesn't overwhelm me, but it takes commitment and strength to get tattoos like mine, all over and so big.
the big huge black one took almost a year and a half of going for 2 hours every 2 weeks, so i was always in pain or in the itchy crusty phase, that leg was very uncomfortable for 18 months! i was very dedicated. didn't even take a break at all. i felt strong while that was happening. i got to know my tattooer very well. we're still friends. he worked on me for 20 years and then i haven't had any lately. i've got one in progress all across my chest, incredibly painful. oh and he was charging $150 an hour that whole time!

So, when you have one in progress, I guess that they stop at a good place for them to look pretty good, even if unfinished...right?
