This is really wonderful. I didn't sea a dionosaur, but I can see a small creature with a blue eye - just like baby kittens eyes. The translucent light does give a good sense of escape. That is what art is about - escaping from the world, but also worlds escaping from you. The colours work wonderfully and the board texture also gives a lovely effect.

thanks so much! i painted it on a little piece acrylic painting paper that i had from when i cut up several sheets of the paper to made odd size paintings. so anyway, that's the texture. a lot of time when i paint i go for something that is translucent, making different layers, and this sounds crazy but a painting that is completely opaque makes me feel suffocated. i guess that's why this is an escape. a way to breathe easier. and just like you said, art is a wonderful break from reality, it's like creating your own atmosphere and expressing feelings. sometimes i just do it for the feeling and never post it.
